Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Municipal officers confirmed an early morning report of the discovery of two heads. The heads were found shortly after 8:30 a.m. laying side-by-side in a grassy area in the municipality of Puerto Morelos.
The grisly discovery was made Thursday morning by area residents of Leona Vicario who reported the finding to 9-1-1. Responding police confirmed the heads belonged to two men. Both men are reported to have been around 35 years of age.
The heads were found in a grassy area off the side of the highway. Authorities carried out an area search but did not find their bodies. The area was cordoned off by elements of the Municipal Police of Puerto Morelos for collection by forensics personnel.
Earlier this month, at least four men were reported abducted from a Puerto Morelos hotel. Police have not made any public comments on if the heads found Thursday belong to those reported missing.
