Akumal, Q.R. — A man found stabbed in the street of Akumal was rushed to Tulum hospital in serious condition Monday. Residents near the scene reported the injured man to local police.
Responding authorities found the man laying on his back near the corner of Punta Brava Street and Gonzalo Guerrero Avenue. He had been stabbed in the abdomen.
Paramedics were called who stabilized him at the scene before a hospital transfer. Due to the severity of his injury, he was transferred to the IMSS Bienestar Hospital in Tulum.
Police have not released any details surrounding the broad daylight stabbing, however, residents who live near the scene reported hearing two men arguing shortly before they saw one laying on the ground.
Investigative Police agents and forensic personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office have begun an investigations to clarify what happened.
