Man picked up for commercial drug dealing connected to Cancun extortion, vehicle thefts and murder

Cancun, Q.R. — A man and woman are being held in Cancun on numerous charges that include drug dealing, extortion and murder. Aníbal “N” and Leidi Libni “N” have been connected to several criminal events around the city.

The pair were arrested last week in a search operation in SM 248. They were taken into custody after the search revealed commercial variants of narcotics. Since their arrests, they were investigated for their possible involvement in criminal activity around the city of Cancun.

In a statement, the State Attorney General reported they have been charged with commercial drug dealing of cannabis, cocaine and the psychotropic methamphetamine.

“Aníbal “N”, a priority objective of the FGE of Quintana Roo, is identified as the alleged leader of a group that generates violence in Cancun. He has also been linked to various homicides, extortions and vehicle thefts in the delegation Alfredo V. Bonfil and Huayacán Avenue of the city,” they reported.

After their initial hearing, the judge imposed the precautionary measure of preventive detention for a period of two years or the duration of the process.
