Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A construction worker died on site Friday morning after having a heart attack. The man, identified only as 53 years of age, was working as a bricklayer when he told coworkers he was not feeling well. The man suddenly collapsed and was pronounced on scene.
Police and paramedics responded to the emergency 911 call around 11:00 a.m. Forensic medical personnel also arrived to remove the body.
The man was working for a construction company in the Ejido neighborhood of Playa del Carmen at the time of his death. He had worked for the company only two days. Workers said he had arrived at the site earlier that week asking for a job since he was without food or money. He was given the position of a bricklayer.
