Island officers transfer illegal Cuban nationals to INM after landing east coast of Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Municipal police of Isla Mujeres report the arrest of three Cuban nationals after they were seen landing the east coast in a small boat. Island police made the arrests at 8:45 a.m. after responding to a citizen report of the men.

Police were notified by an island resident after they reported seeing the men leave a “barge” abandoned on the east side. When authorities arrived, they located the small boat as well as its three alleged occupants.

All three, 26-year-old Raidel G, 28-year-old Osmel C and 26-year-old Rosniel R, were detained by Isla Mujeres police and transferred to agents of the National Institute of Migration (INM). Their boat has been secured by the Captaincy of Puerto Juárez.
