Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — For the second consecutive day, police continue searching land in the Emiliano Zapata II neighborhood following a citizen report of foul odors.
Police, search specialist’s and vehicles including the medical examiner have been seen at the site. An intense search operation was started Thursday after a citizen report of foul odors. Police responding to that report are alleged to have discovered two bodies.
Since Thursday afternoon, personnel from the municipal police, the army, navy, Tactical Jaguar and the State Canine unit have been at the scene. The site has been kept under permanent guard by the Navy and Municipal Public Security.
On Thursday, police concentrated their search efforts in the area of 107th Street between 80th and 82nd with the support of canine teams normally used to locate missing persons.
According to preliminary information, police have found one body in an advanced state of decomposition and another charred. Police have returned to the site to continue their search operation.
