Impact from Cancun accident sends driver 10 meters from bike

Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun man who was thought dead by witnesses to an accident was found alive, but barely. The man, who was driving a motorcycle, was hit by a combi in Region 234 Friday around 10:00 a.m. when witnesses called emergency services.

They told police that the driver of the bike cut off the combi when he attempted to make a sudden direction change. The oncoming city transport unit ended up slamming into the motorcycle, which was partially lodged under the van.

Neighbors who called 911 reported the motorcycle driver as being dead, however, medical personnel from a responding ambulance found him to be alive, but barely. He was found tossed up onto a sidewalk several meters from his crushed bike and his helmet, which was noted as not being sufficient. He was transported to hospital in critical condition.
