Gunmen open fire in Tulum home after street chase

Tulum, Q.R. — At least two people have died after a man was chased and shot in a Tulum neighborhood. The shooting happened Tuesday night in the Maya neighborhood that also left three injured.

According to preliminary information, a man driving a motorcycle was chased by subjects in a car who followed him to a private house. From there, the subjects in the car got out and opened fire inside the private home on Luna Street.

The shooting happened around 8:00 p.m. Neighbors who head the repeated gun fire made reports to emergency services. Reports say at least 15 shots were heard.

Police and paramedics arrived at the home finding dead and injured people. Paramedics confirmed at the scene that two of them no longer had vital signs. Three were found injured by the spray of bullets. There have been unconfirmed reports that a third person has since died.

Agents from the Secretariat of Citizen Security implemented an operation to find the alleged aggressors, however, arrests have not been announced.
