Government of Mexico issues official vaccination certificates

Mexico City, Mexico — The government of Mexico is issuing official certificates for those who have received both vaccines against covid. On Tuesday, Hugo López-Gatell, the Undersecretary of Health announced that the official Covid-19 vaccine certificate is available online.

The certificate is official and is endorsed by the Government of Mexico for those who have had both doses of the vaccine to show immunization. Gatell says that the document can be used for travel purposes for those who need to prove vaccination.

“If you want to have official proof that you have been vaccinated and with what vaccine and on what dates, here it is, the certificate,” said López-Gatell at the Tuesday morning press conference.

To access the official certificate, people need to go online and register with their CURP. Hugo López-Gatell reported that since the night of July 5, the certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 can be processed through the online system.

Once complete, the certificate is sent via registered mail. The document, when received, has a QR code that can be scanned by immigration or other authorities to access the information in real time, he added.
