Tulum, Q.R. — Four people were injured during a two vehicle crash in Tulum. The accident happened Thursday morning between a public combi and large passenger bus.
Police were on scene of the highway crash after motorists and other witnesses called in the 8:00 a.m. mishap. Emergency bodies responding to the reports located a smashed combi and dented bus along with several injured.
The injured were reportedly all from inside the combi unit, which was found smashed engine-first into a palm tree. After being rear ended by the bus, the combi driver swerved off the road and came to a stop against the lip of a concrete planter that housed several large palm trees.
The bus had a damaged front bumper. According to preliminary information, the combi was stopped for a passenger when it was rear-ended by the bus. The four injured were treated on scene before being transferred to hospital. Both drivers were detained from the scene.
