Four killed, six reported injured in Tulum taxi, bus collision

Tulum, Q.R. — Four people have been reported killed and at least six injured after a passenger bus and taxi collided along the Federal 307 Highway.

The accident was called in to Emergency 911 at 8:12 p.m. Sunday. Reports say a passenger bus that had departed Cancun bound for Veracruz collided with a Tulum taxi. The bus ended up landing on its side along the roadway, while the taxi was driven into highway brush where it came to a stop.

Several ambulances were dispatched from Tulum to the site were preliminary reports say four people were killed and at least six injured. The bus was reported at full capacity at the time of the collision. Several people were taken to a Tulum hospital. The seriously injured were rushed to Playa del Carmen. There was no official word on how the accident happened.
