Cancun, Q.R. — Authorities arrested four armed people for their alleged participation in the attack on the facilities of the Cancun Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) Office located on avenida Andrés Quintana.
Police were called to the building in response to an emergency 911 call after a report of shots fired. According to preliminary information, the incident happened around midnight Tuesday in SM 44 when authorities received the call regarding the four armed people.
According to images from video surveillance, six people participated in the attack traveling in three units, two cars and a motorcycle. They were successful at fleeing the scene before police arrived. However, around 1:00 a.m., police received a second report, this time from residents in SM 44 who called emergency services saying they saw a group of people in a vacant lot that appeared to be hiding from police.
With this information, a new search operation was launched that resulted in the arrest of four allegedly involved in the shooting.
