Riviera Maya, Q.R. — A trailer loaded with pine planks overturned Monday on the federal 307. Traffic was slowed in the area since the lost lumber was left invading a highway lane.

The single vehicle accident happened on a Riviera Maya section of road bordering the municipality of Tulum. National Guard Highways were first on scene, locating the overturned semi flatbed and scattered pieces of wood.
According to initial reports, the driver was heading south when he dozed at the wheel and swerved off the highway. In an attempt to correct, he ended up overturned. Motorists passing through the area called 9-1-1 for support.
Emergency services arrived to assess the driver. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. An industrial tow truck eventually showed up to remove the overturned flatbed.

National Guard Highway monitored the flow of traffic around the 7:30 a.m. incident.
