Cozumel, Q.R. — Cozumel police authorities report the arrest of five and seizure of drugs after a chase that began with the collision of their car and a patrol car.
According to the police report, those inside the vehicle fled at maximum speed to try to escape from police after hitting a parked patrol. The collision resulted in a chase that lead to the apprehension of three men and two women who were traveling in a vehicle in which liquor and drugs were found.
Police of the 7192 patrol were stationed on Rafael E. Melgar Avenue when they were suddenly hit on the left side of their unit. A chase began with the vehicle being stopped several blocks later. Inside the Yucatan-plated vehicle, police reported finding cocaine and alcohol.
The detainees were transferred to the Public Security Directorate’s facilities, while the vehicle was towed to the municipal corral.
