Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Five people have been arrested in two separate incidences in the municipality of Isla Mujeres for what police report as drug dealing.
In a report, the Attorney General’s Office says that the first incident occurred on the road to Isla Blanca after a man was intervened. They say that Lázaro N was stopped at the height of the Costa Mujeres roundabout in front of the Majestic in the continental area of the municipality of Isla Mujeres.
On his person, police confiscated more than 300 doses of marijuana, a scale, cash and a radio communication device. He was arrested and charged for the crime of drug dealing.
The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation of Crimes Against Health report another arrest that resulted in four others being taken into custody.
The office says that also on the road to Isla Blanca in the Costa Mujeres roundabout of the Isla Mujeres mainland, four people were intercepted while in a taxi.
After a search, police report finding more than 250 plastic bags of marijuana along with small boxes of rice paper. Arrested for their likely involvement in drug dealing were Juan Daniel N, Carlos Alfredo N, Ignacio N and Beatriz N.
