Firemen free injured driver trapped inside overturned semi

Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Firemen were able to free a trapped driver from the cab of his overturned semi. The driver lost control and overturned on a section of federal highway between Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Tulum.

With the help of National Guard and State Police, firemen were successful in removing the injured driver they found pinned inside the cabin. In a statement, responding firemen called the maneuver a team effort.

“Successful rescue on the Carrillo Puerto – Tulum Federal Highway where the Felipe Carrillo Puerto Fire Department responded quickly to a report of an overturned trailer on the Carrillo Puerto – Tulum federal highway.

“Upon arriving at the scene they found that the driver was pinned inside the truck’s cabin. Rescue team in action! Our firefighters, with the help of elements of the National Guard and the State Police, proceeded to carry out the necessary extraction maneuvers to rescue the driver.

“After a careful effort, they managed to extract the injured driver and bring him to safety. Rapid medical attention. Paramedics arrived to assess and transfer the injured person to a medical center. Fortunately, the driver received the necessary medical attention and is stable.
