Firemen deal with paint covered highway after single vehicle Puerto Morelos crash

Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — A Monday morning accident between a pickup truck and guardrail left the federal highway covered in paint. Puerto Morelos authorities were called in due to the single vehicle crash.

The truck was heading in the direction of Cancun when the driver slammed into the a highway guardrail. The crash dislodged his load of household paint from the bed of his truck.

Firemen used more than 20,000 liters of water to remove buckets of the spilled paint from the highway before traffic was able to resume. The accident happened shortly after 8:00 a.m. when the truck hit the guardrail then bounced into the central median where it came to a stop.

Along the way, several buckets of paint flew out of the bed of the pickup and onto the highway. There were no injuries reported in the Monday morning mishap, only backed up traffic.
