FGE says Cozumel resident produced at least 89 child pornography videos

Cozumel, Q.R. — Miguel N was arrested Thursday from the streets of Cozumel on child pornography charges. The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported his arrest saying he was taken into custody “for his probable participation in the crime of child pornography.”

In their press release, the FGE dated their evidence back to an investigation in January of 2020 with data obtained by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

They reported their investigation “allowed the identification of illicit material related to the forwarding, downloading and production of child pornography” and after, additional investigation work provided them with the identity of Miguel N, who was a resident of Cozumel.

He was taken into police custody Thursday after a judge issued a warrant for his arrest.

Investigative police agents secured more than 800 photographs and videos with illicit content, at least 89 of which, the FGE says, were produced by the now detainee.
