Felipe Carrillo Puerto search leads police to suspect already in custody for kidnapping

Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — The recent operation carried out in the Leona Vicario neighborhood could be related to crimes of kidnapping. Police say during their recent search operation, they secured drugs, weapons and electronic devices. One suspect has also been named.

The property was searched after the owner of the home found guns stashed inside a wall. The person who had been renting the home stopped paying rent and vanished. The owner of the home called police after making the gun discovery.

The Prosecutor’s Office worked in coordination with members of the Navy, National Guard, Citizen Security Secretariat and  Municipal Police during the search.

“At the scene, investigative police officers seized solid material and white powder, dried green grass, similar to narcotics such as cocaine and marijuana, respectively, two firearms, various magazines, live cartridges, a drone, a video player, mobile devices and clothing.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that the property may have been occupied by a man identified as Luis Roberto “N.” He was recently arrested in flagrante delicto for allegedly possessing a firearm and illegal substances. This person allegedly rented the premises where a victim was held prisoner, but  managed to escape and alert authorities,” the FGE reported.
