Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — A highway combi that ran a route in Felipe Carrillo Puerto was destroyed Wednesday in a collision. The two vehicle crash happened in the Mayan community of Uh-May when the combi driver slammed into the back of a parked truck.
The driver of the truck was parked along the side of the highway when the driver of the combi came upon him. Unable to stop, the combi driver tried to go around but clipped the back driver’s side of the truck, destroying the front passenger side of his van.
The accident happened shortly before 6:00 p.m. when, according to the driver of the combi, he suffered break failure. The area was sectioned off by highway assistance personnel while a tow truck removed the combi from the road.
The combi was not transporting passengers at the time of the collision. Neither of the drivers required medical help.
