Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — A driver thrown from her rolled vehicle was pronounced dead in the center of the highway Saturday morning. First responders were sent to the scene of the accident where a car was found laying on its roof.

After flipping, the car came to a rest in the central median of the Puerto Morelos highway. The body of the female driver was found nearby. She had been ejected from the vehicle during the rollover and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bomberos (firemen) from Puerto Morelos were the first to arrive in response to motorist reports of the 9:30 a.m. accident. At the scene, authorities located a rolled Nissan that, according to early information, swerved off the highway and flipped due to a burst tire.

The woman was driving toward Playa del Carmen at the time of the accident.
The female driver, who was reported not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected through a window when her car rolled. Her body was found laying in grass a few meters from her vehicle.
Puerto Morelos paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. She has not been publicly identified.
The area was cordoned off by National Guard Highways until the arrival of the FGE for the removal of the body.
