Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — A passenger traveling in a combi was shot multiple times after the public transport van was robbed. The robbery took place near the Puerto Maya subdivision of Puerto Aventuras.
According to the combi driver, the shooting occurred around 1:00 a.m. Sunday on the Puerto Aventuras-Playa del Carmen route. He said when they reached the pedestrian crossing next to the bridge, two motorcycles appeared each carrying two people forcing them to stop.
Those from the motorcycles then boarded the combi, stripping passengers of all cash and valuables, however, before leaving, one of them began shooting at passengers. One man identified as Alberto N, was hit several times.
An ambulance was called to transfers the injured man to the General Hospital. Authorities from the State Attorney General’s Office began an investigation. No one was arrested.
