City says 18 projects in the works for Playa del Carmen

They verify progress of 18 federal works in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Municipal authorities have verified the progress of 18 projects being done in the most vulnerable areas of Solidaridad said Gustavo Martínez González, director of Public Investment Projects Planning.

The projects, which are being federally funded, are part of the urban improvement program of the Secretaría de Desarrollo Agrario, Territorial y Urbano (SEDATU). Martínez González says since 2018, the municipality of Solidaridad has had approval for these projects.

“Since 2018, the municipality of Solidaridad had these projects approved. What we are seeing at the moment is what was previously called the Municipal Integral Rehabilitation Center, which has a cap of 30 million peso.”

“We have estimated that of the nearly 400,000 residents of Solidaridad, 10 percent have some type of disability, which, at this time, are treated in the Municipal DIF. In this unit that we are building, we will be able to serve a large sector. In terms of equipment, we will obtain it with a municipal resource, approximately 20 million peso,” he added.

In total, the 18 projects are an investment of approximately 240 million peso and are being carried out in areas including Bellavista, Ampliación Bella Vista, Ejidal, Forjadores Villas del Sol and Cristo Rey since in the words of the director, they were considered the most vulnerable areas of the municipality.
