CFE agrees to a 3.5 percent wage increase for its workers

Mexico City, Mexico — The state owned CFE has agreed to a salary increase of 3.5 percent for its workers. The agreed increase was made after negotiations between the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Single Union of Electrical Workers of the Mexican Republic (SUTERM.

In a press release, the company said “the salary increase has remained in line with those agreed in previous years: in 2020 the increase was 3.4%. The eight-week negotiation also included a 1.8% increase in benefits and an addition of between 10 and 13% to the contribution made by the state company to the Individual Retirement Account, the company’s workers’ retirement fund,” reads the document.
