Car totaled and two killed after driver runs stop sign

Cancun, Q.R. — Two people were killed in a car crash in Cancun on Saturday after one car smashed into another. Authorities were sent to the scene on Avenida Niños Héroes in SM 232 where they located two dead and four injured from the two-car crash.

Witnesses say the driver of an old-model Tsuru was traveling down the avenue around 2:00 a.m. when he ran a stop sign and smashed into the side of a Mustang entering the intersection. The impact was severe enough to destroy most of the Tsuru, killing its driver and passenger.

Firefighters and paramedics arrived to transfer the four injured, including the driver of the Mustang, to the General Hospital.
