Cancun, Q.R. — The burned body of an adult woman was found inside a drum early Sunday afternoon. The discovery was reported to authorities around 1:00 p.m. by people on foot in SM 253 of Cancun.
The drum was located by police in a dry field off a dirt road near a residential subdivision. The people who reported the finding said their attention was caught when they saw smoke coming from the ground.
When they moved closer, they saw a blue drum with a charred body inside. It is believed the woman was killed and the area set on fire late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
Personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office processed the scene before the body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service.
