Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun police left a city university after an hour-long bomb search came up empty handed. The threat was reportedly called into 9-1-1 Thursday afternoon.
Municipal police, National Guard and Cancun firemen rushed to the university in SM 312 where a search for the device, which, according to the caller was set to exploded at 6:00 p.m., began. However, after a building evacuation and more than an hour of searching, authorities came up empty handed.
The call was received by the C-5 in Cancun through the emergency 9-1-1 number. In the past, the State Attorney General’s Office has reported hundreds of fake emergency 9-1-1 calls into the C5 Centre each year.
