Cozumel, Q.R. — The body of a man found floating face down off a Cozumel beach Sunday, has been identified. On Tuesday, authorities reported the deceased as a local Cozumel resident.
The man, 43-year-old Demetrio C, was found floating in front of the Cozumel boardwalk early Sunday morning by patrolling officers. His body was removed from the sea and transferred to medical facilities where his sister identified him on Tuesday.
Demetrio C was a local bricklayer on the island who, according to his sister, struggled with alcohol problems.
