Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Water and sewage company Desarrollos Hidráulicos de Cancún SA de CV (Aguakan) has filed an appeal. They company filed an appeal against a recent judicial ruling that would immediately end their contract in four municipalities.
On Tuesday, the Eighth District Court published a notice of the processing of the Aguakan complaint. The company is attempting to appeal a recent ruling against them that would see them remain operating until 2053.
On April 14, the Eighth District Court denied the injunction requested by Aguakan against Decree 195 approved by the Seventeenth Legislature, which canceled the extension granted for the provision of water services in the municipalities of Benito Juárez (Cancun), Playa del Carmen, Isla Mujeres and Puerto Morelos.
