Mexico City, Mexico — Aeroméxico plans to return to the BMV by the first quarter of 2024. If successful, the airline stocks will be listed again in both Mexico and the United States after delisting from the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) at the end of 2022 as part of its restructuring under Chapter 11.
The airline left the BMV as part of the requirements of its new shareholders after the restructuring under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
“Access to financing is important, fundamental for the company and the airline. The more sources of financing you have, the better,” said Andrés Conesa, the General Director of Aeroméxico, at a Mexico City press conference during Tianguis Turístico 2023.
He said that in the U.S., they are still analyzing whether they will be listed on the Nasdaq or the New York Stock Exchange, which were the two options provided in their restructuring plan, however, a decision has not yet been made.
