Cancun, Q.R. — Emergency personnel in Cancun attended to the request for help after locals reported the drowning of a man.
Residents swimming in a lagoon next to the irregular settlement of Santa Cecilia made the emergency 911 call to report a missing male, whom they said, disappeared while swimming with the group. Some people from the group went back into the water in search of the young man, but did not find him.
Police were on scene with members from Civil Protection who also searched the water, but did not locate him. Two people from the group said they were swimming when one of their comrades began to sink.
