Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Two youths were shot to death over the May long weekend in residential areas of Puerto Morelos. Both youths were killed after being hit by a spray of bullets in separate incidences on the same day.
One male, around 20, was left for dead outside a Puerto Morelos convenience store after being shot several times. The unnamed male was on his motorcycle Friday afternoon when the shooting happened.
Police arrived at the location outside a store in Villas La Playa in response to the 1:00 p.m. reports of gunfire. Paramedics were requested but pronounced the youth dead at the scene.
On Friday evening, another youth identified by his alias “el Cholo” of around the same age was shot and killed while at an eatery. That shooting happened in the Leona Vicario area of Puerto Morelos.
Local authorities have not commented if the two shootings are somehow related.
