José María Morelos, Q.R. — Two people traveling in a compact car were killed Friday morning in a highway accident. Emergency services were sent in response to motorist reports of a collision between a company cargo truck and a private car.
At the scene, responding paramedics confirmed the death of both people inside the compact vehicle. The accident happened around 6:00 a.m. on a section of José María Morelos–Polyuc highway.
Police have yet to provide any information on a cause for the deadly crash. At the time of the accident, highways were wet due to bouts of heavy rain.
National Guard Highways redirected traffic around the section of highway that was closed due to the accident. The deceased have not been identified, however, the car in which they were traveling was plated from Quintana Roo.
