Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Fishermen in Punta Herrero have begun to remove their boats from the water for the arrival of Hurricane Beryl. Their boat removal is on the heels of a likely evacuation of area residents ahead of Beryl.
State Civil Protection upgraded the alert to green, prompting the removal of their boats to protected areas. Authorities have not yet announced any official evacuations for people.
Hurricane Beryl is likely to make landfall in the southern region sometime Thursday or Friday.
