Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — The paving of dirt roads in various areas of Puerto Morelos provides a tangible improvement for residents says Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz.
Muñoz gave the green light for the start of paving work on Mario Villanueva Madrid Avenue, between streets 6 and 7. “These projects are a reflection of the current administration’s commitment to the development and modernization of the municipality,” she said.
Muñoz said the paved road will be a significant improvement for families who for years had to travel on dirt roads, which during the rainy season becomes a headache.
“The paving of 1,890 square meters with asphalt concrete is an investment in the safety and comfort of citizens to ensure smoother traffic,” she said. The finished road will include the application of thermoplastic paint with microspheres to improve road visibility and safety as well as the installation of speed bumps and signs.
“These improvements, in addition to beautifying Puerto Morelos, offer us a safer and more efficient environment for everyone. Adequate road infrastructure is essential for economic development because it facilitates access to local businesses and improves the quality of life of the population,” she explained.
Blanca Muñoz said that this is just one of the many projects that will be launched to ensure that Puerto Morelos grows in an orderly manner.
Axel Rosado Ramírez, the Municipal Secretary of Public Works and Services, commented that the paving of this area was a highly requested demand by the residents of the Urban Zone.
The resources to be used, he indicated, come from the Fund for Contributions for the Strengthening of Municipalities and Territorial Demarcations of the Federal District (Fortamun).
