Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — A third person has been arrested for his involvement in a multi-million peso cash heist that happened late last year.
Didi Marino “N” has been identified as the thrid person arrested for his involvement in the November 2023 robbery of 17 million pesos.
Didi Marino “N” was picked up on an outstanding arrest warrant “for his probable participation in the crime of aggravated robbery that occurred on November 10, 2023, in the town of Chumpón of the Felipe Carrillo Puerto,” the State Attorney General reported in a statement.
“The investigations indicate that the accused, along with other subjects, entered a home in this community where they intimidated the victims so that they would give them money.
“Despite the victims’ refusal, when they searched their personal belongings, they found a safe containing one million pesos, as well as two buckets in which they transported the amount of 16 million pesos.
“The now detained man, along with his companions, left the home in a white van, whose driver subsequently lost control, causing him to crash into the bush.”
Police found the white van abandoned along the side of the highway the following day. Two men have already been captured for their alleged involvement in the robbery. The money was being stored at the home of an Ejido commissioner after a large cash land payment. heist
