Cozumel, Q.R. — An accident over the weekend between a Navy truck and private motorcycle has reportedly left one dead.
The accident happened in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood of Cozumel where a Navy pickup truck carrying personnel collided with a motorcycle carrying two women. Police reported the accident happened around 10:00 p.m. Sunday when the two vehicles crashed in a marked intersection.
An ambulance arrived to transport the the mother and minor daughter to hospital, however, reports say the young girl died.
Last week, a new restriction was put into place on the island of Cozumel which stated that after 19:00, only one person can circulate on a motorcycle.
