Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — It took a personal visit to the CFE office but residents of Felipe Carrillo Puerto have power again. A fed-up group of neighbors from the Emiliano Zapata II neighborhood gathered in front of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) office around 10:00 p.m. in protest of another night without power.
The group gathered outside the 72nd Street CFE building in Centro Felipe Carrillo Puerto demanding a solution to the nightly outages. They were eventually met by a CFE representative after shouting outside the building.
Frustrated neighbors were outside the CFE facilities for more than half an hour before maintenance personnel were sent to their neighborhood. Once there, a faulty transformer was replaced and electrical power restored.
