JMM residents rush to accident site to loot trailer before authorities arrive

José María Morelos, Q.R. — Looters did not hesitate to strip an overturned semi of its load early Monday. The young driver of the large unit overturned while taking a corner along a stretch of the José María Morelos-Polyuc highway.

Looters helped themselves to boxes of cleaning products Monday morning.

The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. when its 19 years old driver overturned on a curve while heading for the town of José María Morelos. National Guard Highways arrived to find the overturned semi nearly completely stripped of its load of cleaning supplies.

The accident happened approximately three kilometers from the town. The side of the highway was lined with parked cars of nearby residents who helped themselves to boxes of the products.

The driver of the unit was injured and taken to a local hospital. The semi was towed to the corresponding federal impound lot.
