Highway swerve leaves compact car crushed

Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Only minor injuries were reported Tuesday in a two vehicle highway collision. The driver and passenger of an old model Ford were able to walk away after clipping the front end of a large tour bus.

The collision happened on a stretch of Tepich – San Ramón state highway around 8:00 a.m. when, according to early information, the driver of the car invaded the oncoming lane.

The compact car clipped the front driver’s side of the bus taking out only one front headlight. However, his small car was a write-off.

The tour bus was not transporting passengers at the time of the accident. The bus driver was not injured. Police continue to investigate why the driver of the Chiapas-plated car swerved into the other lane, making contact with the bus.
