Cozumel, Q.R. — Four men being charged with attempted murder are known drug dealers to Cozumel police. After being charged for drug dealing, a judge has ordered the four men to stand trial for the murder and attempted murder of two Cozumel residents.
Jovany Rosalino “N”, Elbert Adriano “N”, Eduardo Valentín “N” and José Roberto “N”, who were previously charged for drug dealing, will now stand trial for murder and attempted murder.
On Thursday, the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) said the men are being charged after the shooting of two on May 29, 2024 in a Cozumel neighborhood. According to the State Attorney General (FGE) statement, “when the male victims were at home, a white vehicle parked from which the now accused got out with firearms with which they fired, causing one of the victims to lose his life at the scene.”
The Judge issued precautionary measure of preventive detention for a period of two years or the duration of the process.
