Cozumel, Q.R. — More than a dozen vehicles were damaged after a mechanic workshop caught fire. Cozumel firemen were at the scene of the early morning blaze in the industrial area of the island Tuesday.
Firefighters from the Industrial Zone substation, who were nearest to the fire, could not respond due to a lack of vehicles. Instead, firemen from Base 1 located about 20 minutes away on Juárez Avenue responded to the emergency report.
Due to the delay, the fire consumed a more dozen vehicles. Once at the scene, firemen reported difficulty reaching the entire fire due to a lack of hose. Several fire extinguishers were used instead to put out flames in areas their hoses could not.

There were no injuries reported. A cause is not known.
