Cozumel, Q.R. — An adult male and minor child were killed outside a Cozumel convenience store early Monday. The family of three were outside the store near their car when they became the targets of gunfire.
The adult male identified as Sergio “N” and one of his children, a young boy, were pronounced dead at the scene. The second child, an 11 year old girl, survived the shooting. She was found injured and taken to hospital.
A large crowd gathered on the opposite side of the scene from where cries could be heard from a woman. Police sectioned off a large area around the scene while grieving family were attended to and the bodies removed from the parking lot.
According to early information, the shooting happened around 2:00 a.m. outside a convenience store on 85th Avenue with Zamná.
Police have not released any official information on the early morning shooting. A motive for the deadly attack is not known at this time.
