Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The driver of an industrial truck is alleged responsible for running a passenger bus off the highway Sunday morning. The bus was found deep in highway shoulder trees after the two collided outside Paamul.
The accident happened between a bus and a double long dump truck transporting ballast. According to preliminary information, the driver of the truck was in the process of a highway retorno U-turn when he crossed the path of the oncoming bus.
The bus driver was unable to avoid the double long unit and crashed into the side of second box. The impact forced him from the highway and into the shoulder jungle where he was located by National Guard.
The bus was not carrying passengers at the time of the incident. There were no injuries reported. A large crane was brought in to remove the bus from the trees and tow it from the highway.
