American owned Terex Genie opens new $140 million plant in Mexico

Ciénega de Flores, Nuevo León — Terex Genie, a company that manufactures work lifts and platforms used in construction, maintenance, warehouse stocking, has announced a new plant.

The American company made an investment of $140 million USD in a new plant in Ciénega de Flores which has led to the creation of 1,500 jobs in the region.

Governor Samuel Garcia said that thanks to the arrival of companies like Terex Genie, Nuevo León occupies first place in job creation. This investment not only benefits the company, but also contributes to economic growth and the creation of quality jobs in Nuevo León.

From January to September 2023, 89,000 jobs have been created in the region, making it the national leader in job creation during that period, he reported.

The new plant was inaugurated October 10, in the municipality of Ciénega de Flores. “We are very excited to establish and grow our team and operations in Nuevo León,” said Jeremy Rife, Vice President of Operations for Terex Genie.

“We have a state-of-the-art facility and a highly qualified and capable team in Nuevo León, which has built a strong culture around our Zero Harm Safety program and corporate values, and this is just the beginning,” Rife said.

Governor Samuel García pointed out that the state government is focused on providing sufficient infrastructure to retain companies already installed while attracting new investments.

“The state is focused on companies that are continuing to expand. We are building 240 new industrial parks, all ready with energy and drinking water and with public security at the state’s exits and entrances with the Army and National Guard, so that companies continue to arrive.

“There has not been a single company that has come to Monterrey and been disappointed,” Garcia said during the inauguration ceremony, adding that for October, the state will achieve the record figure of $37.5 billion dollars in investments.
