Bacalar, Q.R. — A ranging early morning fire completely consumed a large seafood restaurant in the coastal area of Bacalar. Municipal firemen had their hands full with the fire that quickly ate through the dry wood building.
Bacalar firemen were at Cocina Costera Saturday on San Miguel El Grande in response to citizen reports of a building fire.
Due to the strong winds and advancement of the fire, Bacalar firemen were unable to save the restaurant. Civil Protection are continuing an investigation into the exact cause of the blaze.
It has been reported that in days before the fire, the restaurant was undergoing remodeling. The restaurant was empty and closed at the time of the fire. There were no injuries reported.
