Cozumel, Q.R. — Faced with constant complaints from citizens, the Deputy Director of Desarrollo Urbano, Karla Patricia Zapata Zetina, says that the sewage leak being reported on Rafael E. Melgar Boulevard and Juárez Avenue will be reviewed.
Zapata Zetina explained that the sewage is a shared responsibility between the municipality and la Comisión de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado (CAPA).
“Because of the images that I just received, we are going to review the waste coming out of the pipe to see what it is and if it is reaching the coast of the sea,” she said. They will then determine the next move.
She noted that if it corresponds to the municipality, they will request support of Public Services for a precautionary fix, but for now, no responsibilities are assumed without making the respective diagnosis.
