Two Playa del Carmen taxi drivers jailed for shooting façade of home

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two Playa del Carmen taxi drivers remain jailed after being found with a weapon believed used to shoot up the façade of a house.

“After an effective search operation by the Municipal Police, two people, a firearm and a taxi accused of participating in an attack with a firearm against a home in the 28 de Julio neighborhood were seized,” Solidaridad Police reported.

“After receiving the report of firearm detonations and the characteristics of the vehicle, the Preventive Police officers began a search operation, managing to intercept the Ertiga model vehicle, authorized as a taxi with economic number 3057, on 106 Street with 45 Avenue of Colosio neighborhood.”

The two detained taxi drivers have been identified as Abraham “N” and Ronni “N”, both 30 years old from Yucatan. Inside the vehicle police found a loaded revolver firearm.

The home they were accused of shooting at received bullet holes and was cordoned off. “One of the detainees received medical attention because he had facial injuries caused by an alleged fight before his arrest,” Solidaridad Police added in their statement.
