Tiny home devoured by flames in afternoon fire

Lázaro Cárdenas, Q.R. — Another fire in the community Kantunilkín has claimed a house. On Thursday, firemen rushed to the scene of a burning home around 30 kilometers from the town of Kantunilkín.

Alejandro Erosa Betancourt of the Lázaro Cárdenas fire department, reported a small home had been destroyed. Strong winds made fighting the fire challenging combined with the extremely dry conditions.

By the time firemen arrived, the wooden structure had been completely consumed by the fire. Firemen worked to prevent flames from spreading to a nearby grass area.

Everything inside the tiny home was eaten by flames. Betancourt reported only material damage, no injuries. He also said they were working to determine an official cause.

It is the second fire in the municipality in days. On Thursday, a store selling souvenirs and locally made crafts was heavily damaged by an afternoon fire.
