Cancun, Q.R. — Several local politicians have registered to participate in the internal pre-candidate process for the next governorship of Quintana Roo. On Friday night, Cancun mayor Mara Lezama Espinosa reported that she was one of those who registered.
Others who registered for the internal process to replace current governor Carlos Joaquin next year include Senator José Luis Pech Varguez, Senator Marybel Villegas Canché, former federal deputy Luis Alegre Salazar and Rafael Marín Mollinedo.
The former mayor of Solidaridad (Playa del Carmen) Laura Beristain Navarrete, also announced that she signed up for the internal process for the pre-candidacy for governor of Quintana Roo.
Raúl Ojeda González and Manuel Aguilar Ortega from the south, have also joined the list of pre-candidates. The deadline to sign up expired at midnight Friday.
